Canadian Foundation for the Study of Infant Deaths

Canadian  Foundation for the Study of Infant Deaths exists to promote infant health and safety during the prenatal period through two years of age. We do this through programs of advocacy, education, awareness and research. SIDS, Stillbirth and Other Infant Death bereavement services are a critical component of our mission. We deliver on our vision through world class education, research, evidenced based interventions and advocacy. CFSID provides information and education and publications on SIDS, sudden infant death, grief/bereavement issues and safe sleeping. CFSID provides these free resources for use by parents, health professionals, researchers, school teachers and children.

The Mandate of our Organization: The Canadian Foundation for the Study of Infant Death is dedicated to improving infant mortality and reducing the rate of sudden and unexpected infant deaths, and to the emotional support of those who are affected. We promote and support high quality and innovate research into the causes of Sudden Infant Death Syndrome (SIDS) and its effects on families; conduct current public education and accurate awareness programs about issues

relating to Infant Death; provide current and accurate information and emotional support to families who have suffered the devastating experience of an infant death.

We are an incorporated charitable organization governed by a board of directors representing various regions across Canada.
